It's exciting that Rachel and Pedro are fighting because they will be the first fighters to compete under the Double Kick name since the gym’s establishment in March 2025. This marks a major milestone, showcasing the gym’s training, coaching, and community in a live competition setting. Their fights will set the tone for Double Kick’s future in the fight scene, proving that the gym is building strong, capable competitors ready to make an impact.
Rachel has been training under Coach Jessie for several years, starting her journey at The Boxing Club before transitioning to Double Kick. She had her first fight over a year ago, but now she’s ready to step back into the ring and showcase her growth and dedication. As Double Kick’s first female fighter to represent the gym in competition, Rachel is determined to make a statement with her performance.
Pedro is a second-year Mechanical Engineering student at UCSD who came to the U.S. from Brazil to pursue both his academic and fighting dreams. He began his martial arts journey in Brazil and later became a student of Coach Chris at The Training Center, Chris Leben’s gym in San Diego. Under Coach Chris’s guidance, Pedro quickly made a name for himself, competing three times in just three months and maintaining an undefeated record. Now, he’s looking to stay active, sharpen his skills, and continue climbing the ranks as he represents Double Kick.
